Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3 no longer in development at Warner Bros.
As reported by THR, the heads of the DC Universe James Gunn and Peter Safran decided that the film did not fit their current vision. The duo are said to have told Jenkins, who recently submitted his script written with DC mainstay Geoff Johns, that they are not pursuing it in its current form. Jenkins previously directed and co-wrote both Wonder Woman and the critical panned Wonder Woman 1984.
The news will come later a report that Black Adam 2 and a potential Hawkman stand-alone movie is in development at Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions (although THR disputes that and says a sequel is “unlikely”) and that the release date for The Flash transferred in a week.
The next DC Universe release is Shazam! Wrath of the Godswhich will be released on May 17, 2023. It will be followed by The Flash starring the troubled Ezra Miller, Blue beetleand Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The future after today is uncertain as Gunn and Safran decide on their 10-year plan for the DCU.
