Add this to the mess that is going around right now DC Comics properties: A Gal Gadot– star Wonder Woman 3 maybe not moving forward. According to The Hollywood Reporterthe previously greenlit movie appears to be a casualty of the regime change at DC owned by WarnerMedia, which recently hired James Gunn and Peter Safran to guide the next round of beloved characters on the screen.
Wonder Woman 3 is set to be directed by Patty Jenkins, and he and writer Geoff Johns returned to a treatment for the new film before being told by Gunn and Safran that it wouldn’t fit into future plans for the franchise. (THR (says that canceling the film will save Warner millions of dollars, as Gadot and Jenkins will receive pay bumps.)
More awkwardly, just one day later Gadot posted a message on social media about her time as the Themysciran warrior, concluding: “Can’t wait to share her next chapter with you.”
Maybe he’s not the only superhero waiting to hear what’s next for them: This fall, Henry Cavill took to the internet to confirm his return as Supermanfollowed by the announcement that he would leaving Netflix The Witcher after Season 3theoretically opening his schedule for a return to Metropolis.
But as the rest of the DC films were greenlit by previous management – Shazam: Wrath of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomand of course The Flash – it’s unclear what the future holds now for any of the actors cast in Zack Snyder’s era. (Also, don’t forget – these days, even a finished movie starring Oscar nominated actors can disappear overnight).
A few years ago it was announced that I would play Wonder Woman. I am very grateful for the opportunity to play such a unique, iconic character and more than anything I am grateful for you. The fans. Can’t wait to share with you his next chapter🙅🏻♀️🙌🏼💃🏻♥️ pic.twitter.com/XlzhrMx4xe
