Young Slo-Be, Stockton Rapper, Shot Dead at 29

Rapper from Stockton, California Young Slo-Be died, the project manager of the rapper sa Thizzler on the Roof confirmed to Pitchfork. According to CBS News, Slo-Be was involved in a shooting in Manteca, California and was found dead on Friday morning (August 5). “Our entire team mourns him and is shaken by the thought of losing his great potential in this senseless act of violence,” Slo-Be’s project manager told Pitchfork. The young Slo-Be is 29 years old.

“It’s been an honor to work with Slo-Be for the past two years and we’re sad to say goodbye,” Thizzler on the Roof. WRITES in a statement posted on the company’s social media channels. “Our hearts are heavy, and our condolences go out to his family and loved ones.⁠”

Young Slo-Be is a prominent figure in the Stockton rap scene which he shares with acts like EBK Young JocBounceBackMeek, EBK JaayBo, and the EBK Hotboiiz crew. As Alphonse Pierre wrote on Pitchfork new column“EBK JaayBo and Young Slo-Be made the California city of Stockton’s rap scene one to follow.”
