YouTuber Hank Green facing a CANCER war
The author’s brother John Green diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, he shared a May 19 video on YouTube. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a cancer strain that affects the body’s lymphatic system, resulting in swelling of the lymph nodes, according to Mayo Clinic.
“I noticed my lymph nodes were big,” Hank recalled. “I talked to my doctor. He said, ‘Probably not, send you for an ultrasound.’ Had an ultrasound. The tech in the ultrasound room was like, ‘I’m going to see a doctor.’ And that’s not what you want to happen.”
After a doctor recommended that Hank undergo a biopsy, the reality of the situation came into focus.
“It’s a cancer of the lymphatic system, and the good news is it’s something called Hodgkin’s lymphoma,” Hank said. “It’s one of the most treatable cancers. It responds very well to treatment. The goal is a cure. The method to get there is well known, if not good.”
