Chapelwaite Season 2 Plans Canceled by Epix

Co-showrunner Jason Filardi confirmed that on social media Chapelwaite Season 2 is no longer in development at Epix after nearly two years since its development was first announced. This cancellation comes after Epix was recently rebranded to MGM+ earlier this year.

“I fear that Captain Boone’s story will end on that beach of weathered, Maine sand,” Filardi wrote in X. “No season 2. Thanks to all the Chapelwaite fans!”

What is Chapelwaite?

Chapelwaite is based on Stephen King’s short story Jerusalem’s Lot. It was written and executive produced by co-showrunners Peter and Jason Filardi. The horror drama stars Oscar winner Adrien Brody as Captain Charles Boone and Schitt’s Creek vet Emily Hampshire as Rebecca Morgan. Executive producers are Brody, Donald De Line and Burr Steers, with Nick Iannelli and Michael Mahoney also producing.

“The series is set in the 1850s,” reads the synopsis. “It follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who moves his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles must face the secrets of his family’s sinister history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.
