Even famous country singers sometimes get stage fright—or at least those who play them on TV.

Hayden Panettiere—who played country pop singer Juliette Barnes in all six seasons of Nashville from 2012 to 2018 — recently recalled how petrified he was when recording music for the show for the first time.

“I wasn’t trained. Like, scared, scared s–tless, shaking,” Hayden exclusively said AND! news’ The Rundown. “I walked away, apologizing to the producers because I was like, ‘Look, it’s going to take me a while to warm up but I’m going to get there. I’m going to do it, I promise.'”

That’s when things changed, and he had the most relatable reaction of all.

“They told me in the middle of the session, ‘All the producers are going to quit,'” Hayden told the host Erin Lim Rhodes. “I almost threw up, pooped, passed out. I think I called someone and said, ‘Nobody told me,’ hiccuping and crying.”

Hayden, of course, eventually became more comfortable and went on to record a long list of memorable songs for Nashville. His track “Telescope” from the first season of the show even cracked the Billboard Country Songs Chart in 2012.
