Hulu Schedule May 8-14: New TV and Movies

The Great season 3 is the first of Hulu schedule for May 8-14.

On Friday, May 12, the streaming service will release the third season of The Greatan acclaimed comedy-drama series following the rise of Catherine the Great to 18th Century Russia. Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult lead, with both actors earning Golden Globe nominations for their performances in the sophomore season.

The cast includes Phoebe Fox as Marial, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee as Grigor, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, and Sacha Dhawan. Bantogan is written and executive produced by Tony McNamara (The Favorite), with Matt Shakman (Game Of Thrones) serving as director. Fanning and Marian Macgowan are also executive producing.

Here is the synopsis of the new seasons: “Catherine (Elle Fanning) and Peter (Nicholas Hoult) try to make their marriage work after some seemingly insurmountable problems. Peter witnesses his own assassination attempt at Catherine’s hands and imprisons all his friends as well. On top of this, Peter was endlessly playing First Husband in Catherine’s reign, so he kept himself busy with fatherhood, hunting and salt cooking businesses. But this is not enough to keep him content as visions of his dead father (played by Jason Isaacs), are in his head about his failures as the son of Peter the Great. Catherine the Great began to make a name for herself beyond her borders and inspired by a visit by the US ambassador, established a conference where farmers, nobles and merchants could all give the their input to the development of a new Russia. He knows that even the best political leaders sometimes have to compromise to make progress.
