Bullet for My Valentine announces a new self-titled studio album, coming October 22. The UK metal act also showed the video for the lead single “Knives”.

The band’s seventh LP follows in 2018 gravity and represents the top of the Bullet for the specific sound of My Valentine, hence the name with its own title. For “Knives”, they proved their modern metal interior and are ready to bombast the arena, which vocalist and guitarist Matt Tuck calls it an evolution for the band.

“This is the start of Bullet 2.0,” Tuck said in a statement. “It means where we are today. The music is new, aggressive, more visual and enthusiastic than ever.”

The pandemic adds an increased sense of urgency and uncertainty to the creative process. For a work -like band like BFMV, it’s a non -atypical album cycle. Writing began in 2019 and into 2020, but lockdowns halted the recording process until the band safely broke up longtime producer Carl Brown at Treehouse Studio in the UK.

“I think this is the most brutal part of Bullet for My Valentine I’ve ever known,” guitarist Michael “Padge” Paget said. “It’s time for us to release a truly angry, heavy, aggressive record. I can’t wait to laugh on stage! ”

Tuck added: “I want the guns to come out, f ** king half fingers flying, and just go down the throat. I think it’s a much more aggressive, serious part of Bullet for My Valentine. It’s always been there. I’ve never opened its floodgates. I want to get people’s heads off in a figurative way. “

Even without an announced tour, BFMV will appear this weekend (June 18th-20) titled the Download Festival Pilot at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England.
