Tatiana Maslany accepted AMC’s invitation in a flash. Literally, this is the name of his new show.
the Orphan Black the actress is set to star Invitation to a Bonfirea new psychological thriller, AMC Networks announced on August 10.
But the Emmy wins do more than move Invitation to a Bonfirewhich is based on the novel by Adrienne Celtbecause he is also the executive producer of the series.
The series, set in the 1930s at an all-girls boarding school in New Jersey, follows Zoya (Freya Mavor), a young Russian immigrant and groundskeeper, who is drawn into a deadly love triangle with the school’s newest faculty member—a novelist, Leo (Pilou Asbæk)—and his wife (Maslany).
Maslany will portray the character of Vera Orlov, who is “more than Leo’s wife; she’s his editor—and his everything,” the network explained. This cast for Maslany is a bit of a homecoming, as he has previously starred Orphan Blackwhich is part of AMC Networks.
